Specialization: Mobile Communication Systems

Faculty of Radio Engineering, Department of Radio Engineering Systems

Mobile communication is not limited with cell phones only - this concept is much broader. Mobile communication is provided by a set of devices and systems: Basic, GW; space vehicles and interconnecting radio relay, fiber-optic lines and satellite; switching centers; intra-and external interfaces; controllers and transcoders; global archive of subscribers database worldwide. Specialists in this area are in demand not only in Tomsk region and Russia but also worldwide.

The program implies the study of new types of modulation and coding of the transmitted information, the optimal reception of analog and digital radio communications. It is focused on development, production and operation of various mobile devices and systems, including the ones protected from any unauthorized access.

Master degree

After obtaining their Bachelor degree, students can continue their studies with the “Information and Communication Technologies and Networks” Master degree program.

Participation in real projects

TUSUR University allows students to take part in Project Based Group Learning (PBGL). Students following the major " Information and Communication Technologies and Networks " participate in following development works:

Research, modeling and design of mobile radio communications. Research and modeling of the modulation quality assessment algorithms in modern digital radio systems.

Development of analog and digital HF and UHF transceiver modules. Design of high and ultrahigh frequency integrated radio modules that form a radio signal in transmitters and process it in receivers.

Specialization: Protected Communication Systems and Networks

Faculty of Radio Engineering, Department of Radioelectronics and Data Protection

This program prepares specialists capable of ensuring security of radio and telecommunication systems operating under conditions of information security threats. This research direction is strategically important in modern Russia.

Master degree

Participation in real projects

TUSUR University allows students to take part in Project Based Group Learning (PBGL). Students at "Protected Communication Systems and Networks" participate in following development works:

Secure data transmission via automated library systems channels. Building a model of data channel encryption without modifying the software in use.

Nonlinear optical effects in information transmission and processing systems. Research of mutual and self-exposure light beams in a nonlinear optical medium to create data processing and storage systems and increase the capacity of existing fiber-optic communication lines.

High-Q tunable SHF oscillator. Construction and testing of a unique microwave signal generators for various resonators.

Specialization: Radio Communication and Access Systems

Faculty of Radio Engineering, Department of Telecommunications and Basic Principles of Radio Engineering

It is impossible to imagine modern life without the development of information technology. The digital era imposes stringent requirements on telecommunications, and therefore specialists in information and communication systems and networks are highly in demand on the labor market.

"Information and communication technologies and networks" program prepares specialists in the field of information security, programming, computer networks design and administration, public networks, Internet sites development, and databases.

Students at " Radio communication and access systems" acquire a wide range of competencies: modules development for Wi-Fi, 3G, WiMax, modems, amplifiers, receivers and transmitters systems; programming applications for mobile phones, smartphones, computers and programmable logic integrated circuits; telecommunication equipment development (radio relay station, satellite TV system, etc.) ; computer networks and public networks design and administration; development of Internet sites.

In order to get hand-on experience, students are engaged in research work on the largest high-tech companies, where they develop energy-saving wireless autonomous systems, radio and parallel signal processing systems for the needs of Russian military.

Modern information and communication technologies.

Information and communication systems of intelligent buildings. The development of information and communication system for monitoring thermal conditions in a room.

Digital signal processing system. Development of assessment algorithms for the signal arrivals in active phased antenna array (APAA), based on digital beamforming method.

Specialization: Digital Broadcasting

Faculty of Radio Engineering, Department of Television and Control

The relevance of this specialization is conditioned by the fact that digital television system is actively developing nowadays. Many countries have even decided to completely abandon the analog television broadcasting and to entirely switch to digital television in the second decade of XXIst century. The Russian Federation is planning to complete the process in the course of the year 2015. This transition is impossible without highly qualified specialists in this area.

Students at "Digital Broadcasting" get in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the field of design, development and maintenance of telecommunication equipment (including satellite television), local and data-processing networks, interactive cable TV networks and corporate networks as well as in protecting them from any infiltration.
